Geoffrey Martin Rioux, 66, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 with his family by his side.
Born in Bristol, Connecticut to the late John and Dolores (Sprague) Rioux.
Geoff served in the U.S. Army Reserves National Guard and was a co-owner and operator of Absolute Glass in Bristol, CT. After moving to South Carolina 20 years ago, he became a volunteer with Pimlico Plantation for community projects and also worked in Special Education with Berkeley County School District. Living on the water allowed him and his wife of 42 years, Ruth, to go boating every weekend. However, his specialty was barefoot water skiing, which he enjoyed teaching to others. He is known in his neighborhood as the guy driving around in his golf cart saying hello. He loved his family and friends and will be dearly missed. His 21 month old grand-daughter, Emeline, brought him the greatest joy and he showered her with the most special love that only a grandfather could give.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Rioux of Moncks Corner, SC; daughter, Lisette (Nils) Paulson of Brooklyn NY; siblings, Anne Marie Snow (Olcott) of Avon CT, Greg (Vicki) Rioux of Wilmington NC, Ric (Trish) Rioux of St. George, UT, Jimmy and Bill (Liza) Rioux of Bristol, CT; and his grand-daughter, Emeline Paulson.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, John Rioux.
