Gary Lynn Samples

Gary Lynn Samples, 71, of Goose Creek, passed away January 14, 2016. He was born in Lindsey, CA to the late William and Iris Samples. Gary retired from the United States Navy as a Master Chief Radioman on July 31, 1992, after twenty eight years of service. After his retirement, he worked in Radio and Tech for TDS. He loved fishing, karaoke, pool, and was a Dallas Cowboys fan. Gary was a member of The Fleet Reserve Association Branch 269, Sub Veterans, and a life member of the VFW 10256. His family will remember him for being dedicated to his time in the service and being a loving father and brother. Survivors include his children, Chris Samples of Summerville, Robert Samples and his fiancé Nancy Robbins of Summerville, and Tammy Miles and her husband Jeff of Goose Creek; grandchildren, Katryona, Brandon, Courtney, Ashlyn, Kristian, Caleb, Haley, Shane, and Jacob; brother, Terry Samples and his wife Jen of Nashville TN; mother of his children and friend, Vickie Samples; cousins, Karen, Larry Wayne, Jody, and Alan; and his girlfriend, MaryAnn Chinners of Ridgeville, SC. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his grandson, Tyler Samples and his best friend, Larry French. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 p.m. in the Fleet Reserve Association, 99 Wisteria Lane, Goose Creek, SC 29445. Military honors will be rendered by the Fleet Reserve of Goose Creek and Bell Tolling by the Submarine Veterans at 3:00 pm.
