Frederick P. Silvestro

Frederick P. Silvestro, 69, of Cross, SC, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016. Born in Bridgeport, CT on December 15, 1946, to the late Anthony and Johanna Silvestro. Fred is a veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam. After his time in the military, he was employed by the town of Stratford, CT for 32 years. He was also a Life Member of the VFW Post 9460 in Stratford. He moved to South Carolina in 2014 and became very active in the community. Fred loved the outdoors and walking in the woods. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 166 in Goose Creek and a member of the Faith Church in Moncks Corner. His family will remember him as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen E. Silvestro; children, Christine (Keith) Schubert of Norwalk, CT, Anne Marie (Brian) Glynn of Moncks Corner SC, Neil (Jennifer) Silvestro of Ansonia CT, and Diana (Clifford) Bursey of Cross SC; sister, Johanna (Bruce) Shultis of Milford, CT; grandchildren, Brittany Silvestro, Brad Drewes, Neil Silvestro, Jr, Zachary Drewes, Christian, Lillian, and Jonathan Bursey; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he predeceased by his brother, Anthony J. Silvestro and sister-in-law Judith Silvestro. Graveside memorial service with military honors will be held Monday, February 8th, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. in Beaufort National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors.
