Rev. Frederick Edward McKnight, 84, of Hanahan, SC woke up in heaven Thursday May 9th, 2019. He was born in Greeleyville, SC to the late Sollie McKnight and Ruby Beatrice Player McKnight on November 18th, 1934
Always known as the "Silver Fox" for his perfect head of hair with not one hair out of place. He lived his life as a humble man with a genuine love for everyone he met; he was a kind and gentle soul. Fred has been a loyal hardworking man throughout his life - working on the family farm growing up, joining the Charleston Chair Company shortly after high school, then working 32 years at the Naval Supply Center Charleston before retiring from civil service. Not one to be idle, he then went to work for Home Depot for another 21 years.
Fred was a spiritual counselor to others throughout his life and became a licensed minister of Whole Life Ministries Church @ Charleston in 2011. During his final months, he was surrounded by wife Jacqueline Matthews Grimsley McKnight, sons Joseph Carl Grimsley Jr. and John Robert Grimsley, daughter Jeanne Marie Grimsley, grandsons Joshua Caleb Grimsley and Benjamin Michael Grimsley, as well as, members of the congregation who all showered him with love and support.
Celebration of life will be Sunday May 12th at 6pm at his residence at 5 Otranto Boulevard in Hanahan.
