Franklin " Butch " Rivers, ll

Franklin " Butch " Rivers II, 63 of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022 in North Charleston.

Born on October 11, 1958 in Charleston, SC, "Butch" was a son of the late Pearl (Haselden) Rivers and Franklin Rivers.

Butch spent his career working in law enforcement as a deputy sheriff with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, also with the City of Moncks Corner as well as with the South Carolina State Ports Authority.  Butch also worked as a part time assistant with McAlister-Smith in Charleston.  He was a lay pastor with the Seventh Day Adventist Church where he spent a lot of time doing Bible studies with many individuals.  He was also a volunteer firefighter with Moncks Corner, SC.  He loved vacationing at Disney with his family.  Butch will be missed dearly and remembered by so many for his kindness and giving of himself.  

Butch is preceded in death by his parents.

Butch is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Dianna Rivers of Summerville; his son, Matthew Rivers of Summerville; his daughter, Isabella Rivers of Summerville; his sister, Stephney Young (Ted) of Lynchburg, VA; his parents-in-law, Andrew and Shirlene Cook of Summerville, SC; his sister-in-law, Angelia Lutz (Jeff) of Ridgeville, SC; his brother-in-law, Robbie Cook (Leesa) of Moncks Corner, SC; nieces, Ashley McGehee (Justin), Hannah Brownlee (Scott), Kenley Wise (Davey), Alexis Daniels, Sophia Lutz; nephews Jarrod Young (Cherish) and Drew Cook, two great nieces (Hollie and Kylie) and two great nephews (Elijah and Emmett).

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, 29th of June, 2022, from  6:00 PM -  8:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation, 869 St. James Avenue in Goose Creek, South Carolina.

The service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation, 869 St. James Avenue in Goose Creek, South Carolina. The burial will be held at Wassamassaw Baptist Church Cemetery in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.
