Frank T. McCorkle

August 23, 1944 — May 29, 2014

Frank Thomas McCorkle was born in Charleston, MS to Catherine McCorkle on August 23, 1944. He later moved to Chicago, IL to join his family. He graduated from DuSable High School in 1964. He then enlisted into the Air Force. Upon being stationed in Charleston, SC, he met the late Mary Lou Barnett. After courting, they married on April 19, 1969. They moved to Chicago where they bore three children from this union. After studying the bible, they dedicated their lives to Jehovah together by means of water baptism in 1971. He continued his spirit growth within the Christian Congregation where his responsibilities grew. During those years he developed many spiritual friendships within the organization. Frank T. McCorkle fell asleep in death on Thursday, May 29, 2014 surrounded by his immediate family. He will be greatly missed not only by his family, but everyone he has touched during his life. He was a loving, generous father, brother, husband, and friend. He was both intelligent and charismatic. Despite his disability he had confidence in Revelation 21:4, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” He is survived by his son, Frank (Shaina) McCorkle Jr, two daughters, Stacey A. McCorkle and Frances M. McCorkle, two brothers, Nathan (Dorothy) McCorkle and James (Doris) McCorkle, all of Chicago, IL and a sister, Louise Navel, of Milwaukee, WI. A grandson and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. in MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL. Funeral service will follow at 6:30 p.m. in funeral home.
