Frank Knell

December 15, 1925 — June 4, 2014

Frank “Bud” Knell of Johns Island, South Carolina, formerly of Northport, New York, passed away on June 4, 2014 surrounded by his friends and family. Frank Knell was born in Manhasset, New York in 1925; the son of Frank and Gertrude Knell. He is survived by his loving wife, Wyn “Lisa” Knell, his daughter, Tina Saller and her husband, Tim of Milford, CT; his son, James Michael Knell and his wife Lynda of Pensacola Beach, FL, nephew Brendan Grace and his wife, Eileen of Jupiter, Florida; niece Maria DiLauro. Also left behind are his grandchildren, Ryan and Riley Saller, Layla Knell (predeceased); and many nieces and nephews from Ireland also loved “Uncle Fud” so much. Bud was a past president of the New York cotton exchange as well as a successful broker for over 40 years. He enjoyed sailing and was well known for his culinary talents. The family will receive friends at the home of Steedley and Carolyn Candler, 1363 Headquarters Plantation Drive on Saturday, June 7, 2014 between the hours of 5 and 7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pet Helpers located at 1447 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
