Frank Joseph Moraska

Frank Joseph Moraska, 84, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, passed away on January 8, 2022. He was born on August 28, 1937, in Charleston, SC. Frank was the son of George Moraska and Jeannette E. (Weddigen) Moraska. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Karon of 61 years and his son Paul Moraska. He is survived by his children; Frank Moraska (Suzette) of St Augustine, FL; Michael Moraska (Alena) of Denton, TX; Steven Moraska of Mt. Pleasant; Cheryl Hoover (Dale) of Hickory Creek, TX. He is also survived by his brothers George Moraska (Mary) of Charleston, SC; Leon H. Moraska (Jacquie) of Pickens, SC; Gary Moraska (Shirley) of Dothan, AL; and by nine grandchildren, Robert Moraska, Kelly Moraska, Caitlin Moraska, Logan Moraska, Alexander Moraska, Sean Moraska, Nicholas Moraska, Lauren Hoover, and Jordan Hoover.

After graduating from Bishop England High School in 1954, Frank served in the US Air Force Strategic Air Command as a member of a bomber crew responsible for in-flight arming of nuclear weapons. While stationed in New Mexico, he met and married his wife Karon. He had many stories about how his crew almost started WWIII. He received extensive electronics training from the Air Force. He also worked at the VA Hospital creating custom equipment to care for burn victims. He also worked at North Charleston US Army Base.

He started his own successful TV repair business and supported his wife and 5 children for over 25 years. He also worked at American Blueprint Co as an electronics repair technician. After he retired, he continued to work as a handyman doing everything from installing shallow wells to bathroom remodeling. He was a long-time member of Christ Our King Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant, SC. He was a good man who set a strong example of hard work to make ends meet for his family.

The visitation will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 5 PM - 7 PM, at McAlisters-Smith Funeral and Cremation, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464, and the service will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 11 AM at the same location. Burial will follow the service at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis-Ferry Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
