Francis P. Houle, 80, of Goose Creek, died November 10, 2014. Born in Richmond, VT, he was the son of the late Herman and Corrine Houle and husband to Sandra Houle. Frank served in the United States Air Force for twenty four years, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. After his military service he worked civil service for over sixteen years, retiring in 1995 as the Director of Golf for the Charleston Air Force Base Golf Course. He was an avid bass fisherman and was a member of the Hawg Hunters Bass Fishing Club. Frank also enjoyed golfing and worked as a starter and ranger at Crowfield Golf and Country Club. He was a member of the Goose Creek American Legion 166. Frank is survived by his wife of over twenty years, Sandra Houle; three children, Dale Houle and wife Claire of San Antonio, TX, Melanie Ruiz of Virginia Beach, VA and Gail Shirley-Lemmon and husband Chuck of Glen Dale, WV; six grandchildren, Jonathan, Jordon, Ashlei, Hunter, Spencer and Harley; four great grandchildren, Layla, Madison, Aimee and Archer; six siblings, Louis Houle and wife Cindy of Burlington, VT, Albert Houle and wife Nancy of Goose Creek, Paul Houle of Vermont, Dottie Sylbert of Goose Creek, Annette Rickabaugh of New Jersey, and Connie O’Connell; brothers-in law, Steve McCoy and wife Shirley and James McCoy and wife Lisa; and many nieces and nephews Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers, Herman Houle and Roch Houle; his sisters, Corrine Meilleur and Monica Owen. The family will receive friends, Saturday November 15, 2014 from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek Chapel, 869 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC 29445. A celebration of life will be held, Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home. A reception will follow the service.
