Francis James "Fran" Flynn

Francis J. "Fran"  Flynn, 79, of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, passed away on January 8th, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, at Stella Maris Catholic Church, 1204 Middle St, Sullivan's Island, SC 29482. McAlister-Smith will arrange the arrangements.

Fran was born in Philadelphia to Imogene and William Flynn on March 21, 1945. He married Barbara Davis on November 22, 1968, in Philadelphia, PA. He started his career at Sun Oil Co. in Philadelphia and then bought and ran Autohardware in Charlotte, NC for the remainder of his career.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Navy. He was a life-long boater and happiest while out on the water with his family.

Fran is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert J. Flynn.

Fran is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Jamie (Lori); daughter, Kara (Michael); and son Colin (Ashley). He is survived by his “Super Seven”: Will, Dominic, Flynn, Lyla, Holden, Ann Mercer and Davis. He is also survived by his brother, William J. Flynn. He was loved by many friends from his River Hills days and on the Isle of Palms.
