Eugene Adam Heiselman, 61, of Pinopolis, passed away April 16, 2015. He was born in Mineola, NY to the late Eugene Adam Heiselman Sr. and Florence Eleanor Heiselman. Gene served in the U.S. Navy and was a Retired Boat Captain for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. His professional military career spanned over 35 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. Gene was an active member of the American Legion Post 166 of Goose Creek, where he was Captain of the Honor Guard and The Boys State Chairman. One of his favorite activities was riding his golf cart with his dogs, Clarence, Zena, and Bronco. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cheryl Heiselman; one son, Eugene A. Heiselman, III of Travelers Rest; three brothers and six sisters; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. The family will receive friends, Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 20, 2015, at 1:00 pm in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 510 St. James Avenue Goose Creek, SC 29445. Burial will follow with Military Honors by the American Legion Post 166 Honor Guard in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
