Eleanor S. 'Ellie' Hoddinott (Smith)

Mrs. Eleanor Marie Hoddinott, of James Island, died Monday, June 6, 2016 surrounded by her family. Born on November 28, 1947, in Gastonia, NC, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Wilma Daphene Smith. Ellie enjoyed horseback riding, water skiing, travel, dancing, the Symphony and parties. She will be remembered as loving mom and a true lady. She will be missed by her husband, Geoffrey G.J. Hoddinott and daughter, Daphne S.M. Hoddinott of James Island. Family and friends are invited to A Celebration of Her Life on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral James Island Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 1:00pm in the Belmont City Cemetery, Belmont, NC.
