Edward Ulysses Griles

Edward U. Griles, 60, of Goose Creek, died December 14, 2014. Born in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Henry and Elvena Griles and husband to Pearl Harvin Griles. Eddie served in the United States Air Force and worked as a Biomedical Engineer at the Medical University of South Carolina. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. Eddie is survived by his wife, Pearl Griles; daughter, Tiffany Nichole Griles of Hanahan; step daughter, Carol Loraine Burgess of Thomasville, GA; three sisters, Dora Lewis of New York, Ellen Lewis and Nydia Lewis both of Virgin Islands. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and his two terriers, Gizmo and Gidget. He is predeceased by his son Edward Payne Griles, his brother Henry Griles, and his sister Dee Dee Griles. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 7396 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston. The family will receive friends Friday, December 19, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL, 869 St. James Avenue.
