Edward George Gonsalves, Jr., 73, of Goose Creek, South Carolina husband to Mary Frances Marsh Gonsalves of 26 years, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Born on May 5, 1947 in Charleston, South Carolina, Edward was a son of the late, Edward George Gonsalves, Sr. and Minnie Lou Gonsalves.
Edward was a Muscle Car Enthusiast and an avid runner, where he ran the Cooper River Bridge Run for 25 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Charleston Ford Car Club and he served his country honorably in the United States Army.
In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by son, Edward G. " Eddie " Gonsalves, III (Babs) of Aiken, South Carolina; his wife's children, Carla Mills of Goose Creek and Jason Mills (Melissa) of Bonneau, South Carolina; his grandchildren, William Gonsalves, Patrick Gonsalves, Vivien Coleman, Baylee Roberts, Ava Mills, Annabelle Mills and Ryker Mills.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Heritage Holiness Church, 3836 Ladson Rd, Ladson, SC 29456. The service will be held at Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Heritage Holiness Church. Reverend Bob Matthews will officiate the service. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow services in Plantation Memorial Gardens in Moncks Corner. The family wishes to give a special thanks to all of the staff at the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro for all of the great care given to Edward during his final months and also to the staff of Patriot Hospice for their care as well.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Edward`s memory may be sent to the Heritage Holiness Church.
