PNCS Edward Eugene Shaver, United States Navy (Ret), 91, of Summerville, passed away May 1, 2017.
Born in Cardin, OK, he was the son of the late Roy and Lenora York Shaver and husband to Theresa Trudel Shaver. Mr. Shaver served his country honorably for twenty nine years in the United States Navy, retiring in 1973 as a Senior Chief. During his Navy career, he served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. After his retirement from the Navy he worked for many years in Civil Service and as a teacher. Mr. Shaver enjoyed reading books on his kindle and will be remembered by his family as being a Mr. Fix-It around the house and a very kind and loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Theresa Shaver; children, Patrick Shaver and wife Kimberly of Manassas, VA, Susan Shaver of Staunton, VA, Linda Stine and husband Thomas of Summerville, SC, Lisa Trudel of Ponte Vedra, FL and Lori McDougall of Ponte Vedra, FL. Mr. Shaver is also survived by his seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, siblings and son, Michael Shaver.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
