Edna Bosler Martin, 86, of Calhoun Falls, SC passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 6th, 2025.
Edna was born on July 20th, 1938 in Calhoun Falls, SC, to the late Lillian Hagood Bosler and the late Andrew Harrison Bosler. She graduated from high school in Calhoun Falls, SC and married Marion (“Mirney”) Martin on June 28th, 1958 in their hometown. She worked for many years at the local branch of the First Citizens bank and was a beloved member of her small-town community.
She was a compassionate and faithful member of the Calhoun Falls Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for many years. Edna volunteered for Meals on Wheels and committed her life to serving others. She was an avid reader, a talented artist, and a skillful seamstress.
Edna was hardworking and dedicated – especially to her family. She and Marion (“Mirney”) lived a happy life on Burton Drive where they raised their family of six children and had many close friends and neighbors whom they considered family. Edna was a proud and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her absolute heart and soul.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Marion (“Mirney”) Martin; two of her daughters, Joyce Thomas and Laura Martin; her grandson, Josh Thomas; her mother, Lillian Bosler, and father, Harrison Bosler; and her sister, Annette Perry.
Edna is survived by her daughters Jennifer Parnell (Kevin), Amy Ellis (Kevin), and Lisa Darling (David), her son, Andy Martin (Heather); her son-in-law Joseph Thomas (Joyce); and her many grandchildren, Gracie and Lucy Parnell, Ben Ellis (Chelsea) and Claire Thornton (Alex), Rachel Darling, Andrew Martin (Hannah) and Addison Martin, Leslie Scott (John) and Sally Thomas (Franklin); great-grands, Everett and James Thornton, Lawson Martin, and Libby, Anne-Frances, and Charlotte Scott; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved beyond measure.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Calhoun Falls Methodist Church, 361 Jackson Street, Calhoun Falls, SC on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025 and a memorial service will immediately follow with Reverend Frank McCoy officiating. A private burial will be held that afternoon at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
