Edna C Hearne

Edna C Hearne, 76 of Goose Creek, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024.

Born on April 14, 1947 in Lake City, SC she was the daughter of the late Edna Calcutt (Powell) and George Calcutt.

Edna graduated high school a year early at 17. She was a longtime notary public, and a bookkeeper for various companies throughout the Pee Dee and Low Country, last working at Radio Communications of Charleston for over two decades.

Edna enjoyed baking for friends and family, reading novels, playing Bunco with her friends, and decorating her home, especially for Christmas.

Edna loved spending time with her friends and family more than anything.

Edna is preceded in death by her parents George & Edna Calcutt, her sisters Shelby Calcutt and Mary Jane Jordan, her brother George Allen Calcutt, and her grandson Matthew Brandon Hearne.

Edna is survived by her husband Rudy Mitchell Hearne of Goose Creek, and son James Bruce Hearne & daughter-in-law Angelina Hearne of Summerville and son Mitchell Lee Hearne of Goose Creek, as well as her grandson James Bruce Hearne II of Summerville.

The service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation - Goose Creek, 869 St. James Avenue in Goose Creek, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
