Edgar W. Sutton

James Island - Edgar W. Sutton, 83, of James Island, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Edgar was born on March 21, 1931 in Rowan County, NC to the late Alex and Julia (Webb) Sutton. He was a proud veteran of the US Army, retiring as a SGM after 28 years of service and was a longtime member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church. Edgar will be deeply missed by his family, including his wife of 59 years, Pauline Graham Sutton, four children, Bobby R. Sutton and his wife, Bobbie of Charlotte, NC, Margaret S. Olsen of Frederick, MD, Thomas L. Sutton and Gail Seabrook of Meggett, Paula L. Sutton of Charleston, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one brother, Donald Sutton and his wife, Doris, of China Grove, NC, two sisters, Shirley Mull and her husband, Gene, of Chapel Hill, NC, and Judith K. Sutton of Charlotte, NC. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation from 6:00PM until 8:00PM, Saturday, November 29, 2014 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, James Island Chapel, 347 Folly Rd., James Island. Funeral service will be held at 3:00PM, Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 1605 Harbor View Rd., James Island with burial to follow at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery.
