Duane "Dewey" Erling Spong, 86, of Johns Island, SC, husband to Lee Parker Smith Spong, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 after a long illness.
Born on July 20, 1935 in Frederic, WI, Dewey was a son of the late Russell H. Erling Spong and Maude Leona Gilliand Spong.
Dewey graduated from Dana College in Blair, NE and worked as a Senior Advertising Sales Executive and Magazine Publishing for Life, Time, US News, Reader's Digest, National Geographic and Smithsonian Magazines. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force Reserves.
Dewey was predeceased by: his parents and daughter Heather Spong Alnuweiri.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lee Parker Smith Spong, one niece, one great-nephew, one great-niece, five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
