Dorothy E. 'Dot' Dooling

Dorothy E. Dooling, 91, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, died on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. She was born December 5, 1922, in Lancaster, PA, to the late Mrs. Florence Hamilton and the late Mr. John Hamilton. Dot, a wonderful mother and grandmother, was the center of her family and they were her greatest joy. She was a longtime member of Christ Our King Catholic Church and most recently resided at Savannah Grace in Mt. Pleasant, SC. A proud Navy wife, Dot was a lifetime member of the Charleston Rifle Club, an avid bowler and a dedicated Braves fan. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years, John J. Dooling and her brother, John Hamilton Jr. She is survived by her four children: Son, Charles P. Dooling (Jane) of Orange Park, FL; daughters Joanne Remington ( Everett ) of Wando, SC; Frances Moore of Charleston,SC; Kathleen Knox of North Charleston, SC. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Family and friends will gather at McAlister Smith Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, from 10:00 to 11:00 am with a 'Celebration of Life' to be held at 11:00 am. Inurnment will be at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Memorial donations in her name may be made to Hospice of Charleston, 676 Wando Park Blvd, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
