Dorothy Lalotte Brass, 94 of Mount Pleasant SC, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023.
Born on October 12, 1928, in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a daughter of the late Anne Lalotte and Patrick Lalotte.
Dorothy was the last remaining Lalotte sister, proceeding in death were her sisters, Catherine Plitt (Emory, Sr.) Leona Carson (Edward), and Margaret, (John)
Dorothy was known to immediate close family as Muz, extended family as Aunt Boots, and everyone knew and loved her as Dottie or Dot.
Dorothy is survived by one Daughter, Denise Brass Saxton and Son-in-law Bruce. They have two daughters, Jillian Saxton-Moody, husband George, twins, Addie and Sloane; Logan, Kellan of Anchorage, Alaska. Daughter Rachel Saxton Lee, husband Patrick of Summerville, SC.
Dorothy was close to her niece, Bonnie Carson Perry, husband Joe, of Salisbury, MD and all their children, Adrienne, Lauren, Paul, and Johanna. She was close to her nephew Greg Beck, wife, Karen, daughter, Angela, all of Randolph, NY. She also has nephews Emory Plitt, Jr., wife Judy, and their children, Mindy, Beth, and Emory. Michael Plitt, his wife Nina (deceased), children, Heather and Michael and twin brother Dennis (deceased) Rose and their daughters, Laura and Amy are part of the family as well, all of Maryland. We must not forget dear Aunt Cass and the Hellman boys like her brothers.
Dorothy made quite the career for herself from bank teller and mortgage specialist to end up working her way up through the ranks of NCR; National Cash Register, which later became AT&T. Without college, she knew more about mortgages and the system to sell them. She became one of NCR’s number 1 woman regional sales managers with a team of salesmen that are highly successful to this day.
When Dorothy retired 30 years ago, she left Baltimore and moved to South Carolina to help raise her grandchildren. Here she became a loving member of Christ Our King Catholic Church. She quickly became a Eucharist Minister and took Communion to the Hospitals and infirmed. She also volunteered at ECCO, (East Community Outreach), meals on wheels, East Cooper Hospital, and Roper Mount Pleasant Hospital.
Dorothy was a member of the Irish Historical Society and was one of the founding members of The Ladies Ancient Order of the Hibernian for Charleston.
The service for Dorothy will be Monday, June 26, 2023, at 10:30 AM at Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Drive, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
