Dorothy A. Cooper, 86, of Charleston, SC passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018.
She was born on October 8, 1931 in Blackshear, Georgia to the late Agnes Williams Dixon and Nathan Dixon.
Dorothy (Dottie) was a past member of the Charleston Rifle Club, Elks Club, and Charleston Women's Bowling Association.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Wade H. Cooper of 55 years, who passed away on April 16, 2002; daughter, Vicky Lynn Horres, who died on April 24, 2011; siblings, Pete Dixon, Raymond Dixon, James Dixon and Reba Howe.
She will be missed by her sons, Steven W Cooper (Jean) of Ladson, SC; Kevin B Cooper (Mary) of Moncks Corner, SC and Greg A Cooper (Diana) of Moncks Corner, SC. In addition to her children she leaves behind 6 grandchildren; Steven Cooper, Jr., Greg Cooper, Jr., Rebecca Cooper, Kelli Cooper, Sean Cooper, and Dixon Horres. Dottie also leaves behind 15 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley, 2501 Bees Ferry Rd. Charleston, SC 29414. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Charleston, SC.
