Dolores “Dee” Szucs, of James Island, 90, died Feb. 4, after a brief illness. Born in Quality, KY on Jan. 22, 1928, she moved to Dayton, OH as a teen, and lived there until she moved to Folly Beach in 1987. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Steve, daughter Stephanie, and brothers Charles and Thomas. She is survived by daughters Rebecca (Jeff) Luhrs and Teresa (Walt) Venable, brother/son Gregory (Donna) White, brother Mendel (Mary) White, sisters Reba (George) Brooks, and Kay (David) Angelmeyer, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was an amazing woman, truly ahead of her time. Dee had a zest for loving, learning, and life. She will be sorely missed by many. Visitation will be held Friday, February 9, 2018 from 5-6PM at the McAlister-Smith Funeral Home James Island where her memorial service will be held at 6:00PM.
