Denis Joseph Creeden

Denis Joseph Creeden, 74, of Summerville, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016. He was born May 22, 1942 in the Bronx, NY to the late John and Kathryn Creeden. After high school, he joined the Army Reserves, serving for six years and then later joined the United States Air Force, where he served another 20 years retiring as a Tech Sergeant. Denis also retired from the Fire Department of New York. He enjoyed woodcarving, carpentry, and fishing. Active memberships include, the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and St. Philips Benizi Catholic Church in Moncks Corner. Survivors include his beloved wife of fifty years, Judith Creeden; daughter, Brigid Creeden (Gail) of Summerville; sons, Denis Creeden (Jacqueline) of Newtown, CT, Brian Creeden (Dawn) of Campbell Hall, NY, Michael Creeden (Christine) of Esopus, NY; grandchildren, Zachary, Callen, Joshua, Liam, Erin, and Finley. The family will receive friends, Monday, August 8, 2016, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at McALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 11:00 am, in St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, 1404 Old U.S. 52 Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Burial will follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens with military honors. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford Street, Boys Town, NE 68010.
