Della Delores Scoggin

Della Delores Dovre Scoggin, 82, of Mt. Pleasant, SC entered into eternal rest on, January 28, 2017. She was born on December 18, 1934 in Miami, Florida to the late Hazel Pike Dovre and the late Harold Dovre. Della was a graduate of St. Andrew’s High School in Charleston, SC and later from Winston Salem State University with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree, graduating Magnum Cum Laude. She volunteered as a Docent at the NC Museum of Art for over ten years and was very fond of art history and traveling abroad. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty two years, Robert Wright Scoggin, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three sons, Robert W. Scoggin, Jr. (Ginger), of Anchorage, AK, Steven W. Scoggin (Connie), of San Diego, CA, and Clifford B. Scoggin, of Gastonia, NC; one brother; Alfred Dovre, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; one sister, Marie Gosnell, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; seven grandchildren, Dustin, David, Rebecca, Molly, Katherine, Maia, and Anna; one great grandchild, Kensyn; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving parents and one brother, Richard Dovre. The Memorial Service will be held at the Rodenburg Chapel, Franke at Seaside, 1885 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464, on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA, 22202.
