Delila Wilson Parrott

Delila Wilson Parrott, 80, of Mt. Pleasant, SC died on Monday, February 9, 2015. She was born on April 20, 1934 in Green Sea, SC to the late Etha Mae Strickland and the late Clarence Oscar Wilson. Delila was a graduate of Green Sea High School and McLeod Infirmary School of Nursing. She later pursued an advanced degree and became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist practicing for many years in Dillon and Mt. Pleasant, SC. Delila was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant and an avid bridge player. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her grandchildren. Her family remembers her as an amazing lady. She is survived by two daughters, Joan Acosta (Gustavo), of Columbia, SC and June Connor, of Summerville, SC; one son, Bert Christopher, of Florence, SC and one step-Son, Jacob Leon Parrott, of Ashburn, VA: six grandchildren, Jonathan “Jay” Arden Argoe, Jr., Ray Mattison Nix Jr. (Megan), Laney Elizabeth Parrott, Ruth Marie Parrott, Sarah Margaret Parrott, and Olivia Catherine Nix; two sisters, Linda Stephens and Amelda Johnson, and three brothers, Tracy Wilson, Lacy Wilson and Crockett Wilson. She was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Jakie L. Parrott and one brother, Clarence Oscar Wilson Jr., and one son, John Joseph Christopher. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. A Funeral Service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, 681 McCants Drive in Mt. Pleasant on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Dr. Ron Dillon officiating. Burial will follow at Lamar cemetery, Lamar, SC, at 5 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Center of Charleston or First Baptist Church Benevolence Fund, 681 McCants Drive, Mt.
