Delbert Lee "Bert" McWilliams

Delbert Lee “Bert” McWilliams, 80 of Adams Run, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023.

Born on October 13, 1943 in Five Forks, Calhoun County, WV, Bert was a son of the late Hildred and Sarah Selmon McWilliams.

Bert was proud of his service in the United States Army serving in Vietnam. He also held several records in the Fishing Hall of Fame. Later in life he enjoyed carving canes while in South Carolina.

Bert was preceded in death by his parents, Hildred and Sarah Selmon McWilliams and his brother Wilbert McWilliams.

Bert is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Sonya Rae Clegg McWilliams, two daughters, Elizabeth “Betsy” Allen (Richard) and Sabrina Naylor (Don), one step-son, Craig Gandor, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation - West Ashley, 2501 Bees Ferry Road in Charleston, South Carolina. His funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM. Burial will then take place at 1:00 PM, at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort, South Carolina 29902.
