Deborah (Hatley) Holbrook

Deborah Hatley Holbrook, 60, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014. She was born on Friday, July 3, 1953 in Albemarle, NC to Joseph Hatley and the late Rachel Hatley. Deborah graduated from the University of Georgia. She was a teacher, a homemaker, and a lover of children. She enjoyed spending time with her children and fishing with her husband. She attended McClellanville United Methodist Church. Her family remembers her as a loving and devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Lindsay Holbrook of Charleston, SC; three daughters: Ashley Holbrook of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Ann Hammond and her husband, Scott, of Charleston, SC; and Jessica Thomas and her husband, Jason, of Nashville, TN; her father, Joseph Hatley, Sr., of Albemarle, NC; and one brother, Joseph Hatley, Jr., of Albemarle, NC. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 21, 2014, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel, 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston, SC. A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's Church, 440 Whilden Street, Mt. Pleasant, SC, on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at 2:00pm with Pastor John Burley officiating. A private family burial will follow in the McClellanville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Charleston .
