Deborah Anderson Blevins

August 3, 1954 — January 22, 2015

Debbie was born in Charleston, SC to Arthur E. Anderson, Jr. and Sylvia Jones Anderson on August 3, 1954. Debbie was the eldest of seven children, and was the matriarch of the family. She attended parochial schools and graduated from Bishop England in 1972. Upon graduation, she went on to USC and became a lifelong proud Gamecock! While a student, her father helped her get a start in the multifamily apartment business. She embarked on a career that led her back to Charleston and eventually to Houston in the early 80’s. Over the next two decades, she went on to become a partner and Executive Vice President of the Hudson Group which later merged with JMG Realty of Atlanta and Houston. The company today owns and manages thousand of apartment units throughout the Southeast. Debbie and her family moved back to Charleston in 1999 and she eventually retired to spend more time with her greatest joy, her children, Elizabeth, Austin, Hillary and Beau. Debbie loved to entertain, shop, and renovate houses. She traveled extensively but always said her favorite place was her little cottage on Sullivan’s Island. Debbie is survived by her mother, Sylvia Anderson Lantz and her husband (The Rev. John Lantz) of Mt. Pleasant; daughters, Elizabeth Aisling Wolter(Blake), of Clemson, SC; Hillary B. Deegan (Chris), of Charleston; two sons, Austin Anderson Blevins, of Charleston; and Beau Blevins, of Charlotte, NC; Wyatt Ball (Whom she considered a son), of Sullivan’s Island; two sisters, Tricia Anderson, of Mt. And her five closest friends, Mary Ann, Pat, Pam, Anna, and Melinda. She was predeceased by her Father, Arthur E. Anderson, Jr., one brother, Arthur E.
