David Glenn Wilcox, 69, of Charleston, SC, husband to Debra Nyland Wilcox of (44) years, passed away on August 9, 2021.
Born on November 5, 1951 in Natrona Heights, PA, David was the son of the late William Clifton Wilcox and the late Margaret Boustead Wilcox.
He lived in Brackenridge and after getting married, he moved to Tarentum. After retiring, he moved to Charleston, SC. While in high school, he worked for a local newspaper as a district manager. In 1982, he began working for the security department of Allegheny Valley Hospital where he received numerous recognition awards for customer service and years of service. After completing courses at the Crisis Prevention Institute, he became a CPI instructor at the hospital. He retired from his security position in 2015.
He spent many years serving his community as a volunteer fireman. David also served as a soccer coach as well as a coach for challenger baseball. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, reading, hiking, attending Scottish Highland Games, chasing trains and listening to talk radio stations. He enjoyed walking along Riverfront Park to watching the boats and ships.
Besides his parents, David is preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Araguz Norfolk, VA and Daisy Wilcox, Brackenridge, PA as well two brothers, William Wilcox, Kissimmee, FL and Jack Wilcox, Akron, OH.
David is survived by his wife, Debra Wilcox, his 4 children: Eileen Heasley, Amity PA, Gavin Wilcox, Charleston, SC, Cliff Wilcox, Brackenridge, PA and Ben Wilcox, Natrona Heights, PA and several grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to local firemen departments and first responders.
