Daniel Gregory Osterman, 39 of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Monday,
May 1, 2023, of heart failure.
Born on October 22, 1983, in Cincinnati, OH, he was a devoted Husband, Son, Brother,
and Uncle. Danny was the husband of Samantha Osterman (Delabar), youngest Son of
Carole Osterman (Willhide) and Greg Osterman, Son-in-Law of Christine Delabar, and
Geoff Delabar, Brother of Jason Osterman, Brother-in-Law of Rosalyn Osterman and
Uncle of Connor and Nico Osterman.
Growing up in Cincinnati, he attended Moeller and Loveland High Schools and
graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2004. He was athletic, and was great at
basketball and golf. He was a loyal and long-suffering Cincinnati Bengals fan.
Though he was always proud of being from Cincinnati, Danny moved to Charleston in
2008 to set up his life how he wanted to live it, in the south, near the ocean. He loved
spending time at the beach, taking his boat out and exploring the Charleston waterways
and camping with friends. He loved fishing and was a great golfer. He played frequently
and was well-known for driving over 350 yards.
He worked mostly in construction and contracting, and for a long time designed and
installed custom pools for many properties in the Charleston area. He had recently
started working with his best friend at an HVAC and plumbing contracting company and
together they were building a thriving business together.
Surrounded by friends and family, Danny married the love of his life, Sam in October
2022.
Danny was a hard worker and prided himself on his work ethic. But above all else,
Danny always put his family and friends first. He was a very caring and helpful person.
who always made time for family. He loved spending time with his mother and father as
well as his close friends. He also loved playing the crazy uncle part with his nephews
and they loved playing with him.
Danny was a real force of nature, and the world was a better place because he was in it.
We will never forget him. But Danny would want us to go on, live our lives and make him
proud. And so, we will.
The family will have a small, closed Celebration of Life on May 20th with close friends
and family.
