Daniel Ray Emery

Daniel Ray Emery, 77 of Johns Island, SC, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. 

Born on November 6, 1946, in North Charleston, SC, he was the son of the late Gustie Benton Emery and the late Daniel P. Emery. 

Danny was a loving brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a skilled carpenter and auto mechanic. Danny was a nature-lover who enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and spending time feeding the birds and squirrels. He adored his cats, Tiger and Nellie. He loved giving motorcycle and lawnmower rides to the kids and especially enjoyed time with his great-grandson, Bentley.

Danny was a member of Midway Baptist Church. As he faced death, he stated that although he was sad to leave, he knew where he was going because he had placed his faith in Jesus. He loved to talk about what heaven would be like and shared his love for the Lord with his family.

Danny is survived by his daughter, Danielle Emery Dean (Jimmy); sister, Dorothy Emery Hill (Billy); granddaughters: Brandy Green, Jessamin Green and Casey Shea Hogan; great-grandson, Bentley Waldrop; nephew, John Hill (Patty); niece, Glenda Nanna (Larry) and many grand nephews and nieces and great-grand nephews and nieces.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Carolina Memorial Gardens, North Charleston, SC. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Agape Care Hospice, 3955 Faber Place Drive, North Charleston, SC 29405.
