D. C. Brown, 95, of Moncks Corner, entered into eternal rest on October 09, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was married to Marguerite H Brown for 69 years before her passing on December 20, 2014.
D.C was born on January 08, 1926 in Guntersville, Alabama. The youngest of eleven children born to Athern Brown and Charlsie Justice Brown.
In 1942, D.C joined the US Navy to fight in World War II. He served aboard the USS Waters and participated in six major battles against Japanese Forces. He saw action in the Korean War and in 1962 participated in the Cuban Missile Crisis. Later he helped provide support for the Vietnam War. He retired in 1966 as a Master Chief Petty Officer. After retirement from the Navy, he worked in security at the Polaris Missile Base in Goose Creek, SC. D.C. was involved in the Bass Pro Tour for a number of years before working as a fishing guide at Bell's Marina in Eutawville, SC.
Once completely retired, he traveled the continental United States with his wife and grandchildren. He loved traveling, meeting people, and most of all his family.
He was a faithful member of Northbrook Baptist Church in Boiling Springs, SC.
D. C. is survived by one son, Charles Edward Brown (Jackie) of Chesnee, SC and two daughters, Jean Brown King (Thomas, deceased) of Moncks Corner, SC and Janet Brown Lucas (Mike) of Moncks Corner, SC. Three grand-children, Susan Lent, Donald Brown and Tina Brown. Four great-grand-children and one great-great-grandson.
The service and burial will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in D. C.`s memory may be sent to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Charleston.
