Claude David Dollins, 84, of Daniel Island, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
Born on November 11, 1940, in Turnersville, Texas, Claude was the son of the late Jimmie Riley (Lane) Dollins and Dorman David Dollins. Raised on the vast ranches of West Texas, he later moved to Bosqueville, Texas, where he attended high school. He actively participated in sports and excelled in football. His early involvement on the Debate Team laid the foundation for his future pursuits. Claude's academic journey was marked by his attendance at Hardin Simmons University on a football scholarship and won numerous bouts throughout Texas in Golden Gloves Boxing. Furthering his education, he earned a master’s degree from Texas Tech University and completed his studies at Southwestern Theological Seminary. Both institutions later honored him with Distinguished Alumni Awards, recognizing his contributions and achievements.
Professionally, Claude was a principal in two CPA firms before founding Claude Dollins and Associates. As an Executive Coach, he dedicated his career to enhancing the performance of company executives, embodying the role of mentor and guide. He created a small group format for executives to be coached in pier groups, and he impacted numerous businesses and hundreds of business leaders nationwide using this unique format. Later in his career, he worked alongside his son; they created Leadership Conferences with notable speakers such as Stephen Covey and President Herbert Walker Bush.
Claude had many passions, including playing golf, storytelling, and cherishing moments with his family and friends. He brought laughter and wisdom to all who knew him throughout the country.
Predeceased by his parents, Jimmie and Dorman, and his brother, Lane Dollins, Claude leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Lavenia Dollins; his son, Dan Dollins and daughter- in-law, Jeanne Dollins; grandchildren, Grant Dollins and Brooke Dollins; and his sister, Cherry Dollins Griffitts and brother-in-law, Keith Griffitts.
