Christopher Ryan Sims

Christopher Ryan Sims, 43, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. 

Born on September 8, 1979, in Charleston, SC, he was the son of Gayle Missel Sims and Wayne Vern Sims. 

Chris was a very hard-working man who loved his children and Ohio State football. He never forgot a name, never met a stranger and was always quick with a joke.  A lifelong restaurant worker, he loved his profession and was a passionate and dedicated chef at many lowcountry establishments. His smile and dedication will be missed. 

Chris is survived by his children, Eric Christopher and Emma Grace Sims; his parents, Gayle and Wayne Sims; his siblings, Hope Guffy and Brett Sims; and his former wife, Emily Bischoff. 

The family will receive friends and family on Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm  at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 714 Riverdale Drive, Charleston, SC, 29407.  The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Redeemer memorial fund in Christopher's' name.
