Christopher Grimm

Christopher Lee Grimm, 40, of Hanahan, SC passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024.

Born on January 11, 1984 in Mishawaka, IN, Chris was the son of Nora Scheetz Grimm and James Grimm.

Chris held a bachelor's degree in computer science and worked as a solution architect in information technology/software sales at Red Hat where he was an invaluable, loved, and highly respected member of their team. Chris served as an active duty United States Marine from 2002 to 2006. He served one tour of duty in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom from February 2004 - September 2004. Chris enjoyed off road wheeling in his Jeep, fast cars, scuba diving, traveling the world, being "Chef Chris" and smoking meats on his Traeger, hunting, long range target shooting, video games, wining and dining with his wife and friends, Chicago Bears football, and of course Cuban cigars and good tequila. He will be missed by his loving family and by his innumerable and incredible chosen family from coast to coast.

Chris is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Karen McCarthy Grimm and his beloved dogs, King and Harley.

Chris is survived by his best friend and love of his life wife, Julia Krol Grimm; his parents; his sister, Stacey Ennis (Michael); his nephews, Trevor, Dylan, and Gavyn Ennis; his brother, Jason Grimm; his nieces, Aryanna and Payton Grimm; his maternal grandmother, BettyLou Richards Donbrock; his grandfather, Craig Donbrock; his paternal grandfather, James R. Grimm; and his fur babies, cats Alex, Onyx, and Sophie and his beloved bulldog Gigi.

The visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 10:00am - 11:00am at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation, 869 St. James Ave., Goose Creek, SC 29445.

The funeral service for all who loved him will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 starting at 11:00am at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation, 869 St. James Ave., Goose Creek, SC 29445. The burial will then follow at 2:00pm at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary St., Beaufort, SC 29902.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 starting at 5:00pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation, 869 St. James Ave., Goose Creek, SC 29445.
