Christine Cook Sims left us on Saturday, July 7, 2018 to be with her Lord. She died at home with her beloved husband of 66 years beside her.
Christine was born in Aynor, South Carolina in 1931 to the late Mary Edna and Dexter Gore. She spent most of her life in retail sales management. She was an avid gardener and loved the time spent enjoying her handiwork. A member of the First Baptist Church of Goose Creek, she loved and was loved by her church family. Her greatest accomplishment was her family, which she loved beyond measure.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deanna Fuehrer Sims and four brothers.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, Jasper L. Sims, are her daughters, Jackie Sims Chapman (Dennis) of Goose Creek and Cynthia Renee Waters (Johnny, predeceased) of Goose Creek; two grandsons, Joshua L. Russell (Tabatha) and Alex C. Fuehrer (Jessica); a granddaughter, Christy Mook (George) of Lexington; three great granddaughters, Kaelan, Aubriana, and Brynlee Russell of Summerville; one great grandson, Landon Mook of Lexington; two brothers, Ellie Gore (Helen) of Gilbert and R.V. Gore of Lexington; as well as her best friend of 50 years Inge Martin (Dean).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Goose Creek, general offering fund.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Goose Creek. Interment will immediately follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens with lunch to follow at the First Baptist Church.
