Charles Lewis 'Charlie' Kirvin

Charles Lewis Kirvin, 63, of Mt. Pleasant, SC died on Sunday, November 30, 2014. Charlie was born June 9, 1951, in Darlington, SC to the late Addie Kirvin Hilton and the late Robert Lee Kirvin. Charlie was a retired police officer and served with the Mt. Pleasant Police Department for 20 years and also a Commissioned State Constable. He graduated Moultrie High School in 1971, and took pride as a star kicker, and an all around defensive and offensive player for his football team. Charlie enjoyed playing and coaching softball, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren and his loving family. His family will remember him as a wonderful “Poppa”, endearing friend, loving brother, father and husband. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, LeVica Baize Kirvin, of Mount Pleasant, SC, two sisters; Becky Williams, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Patsy Spivey, of Rockingham, NC, his son; Timothy Wayne (Tanya) Kirvin, his step-Son; Trey Hill, of Huger, SC, and seven grandchildren; Timmy Kirvin, Tyler Kirvin, Sawyer Kirvin, Tanner Kirvin, T.W. Hill, Dallas Hill, and Hampton Hill, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his stepfather; Bill Hilton, three brothers; R.L. Kirvin, Jr., Rev. Ted Kirvin Sr. and Ricky Kirvin. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 12pm to 3 pm and then 6pm to 8 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. A Funeral Service will be held at Seacoast Church, 750 Long Point Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 1 pm with Pastor Michael Morris and Rev. Randy Thames officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens cemetery. The family would like to acknowledge Charlie’s second family, the Mt. Pleasant Police Department, and Dr. Salvatore Chiarmida, and his heart specialist team.
