Charles Dale Snyder, 75, of Ladson, passed away September 6, 2016. Born in Washington, D.C, he was the son of the late Charles Franklin and Virgina Snyder and husband to Dora Snyder. He served his country in the United States Navy, retiring as a Chief and during his time in the Navy he served in Vietnam. Charlie was a Past Master of Mariner Lodge #2, Past High Priest of Carolina Chapter #1, Royal Arch Mason, Past Illustrious Master Enoch Council #1, Royal and Select Masters, Past Commander Command of Commandry #1, Knights Templar, Past Sovereign Master Charlestowne Council #195, Allied Masonic Degrees, Past Governor Charlestowne York Rite College #113, Member of The Order of The Purple Cross, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite 33rd Degreee, Valley of Charleston, SC and a member of Mensa. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Dora Snyder and children Jinny Gooding Kramitz (Alan) of Goose Creek and Charles Edward Snyder (Carri) of Pea Ridge, AK; grandchildren, Garrett Gooding, Morgan Gooding, Karli Snyder, Rhett Snyder and Payten Snyder; brother, Terry Snyder and sister Jinny Howser. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston, SC 29414. A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, September 8, 2016 in MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston, SC 29414. A graveside service will be held in Beaufort National Cemetery with military honors. Arrangements are entrusted to McAlister-Smith Funeral Home.
