Charles Rivers Carroll Jr., 68 of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023. “Charlie”, as he was affectionately called, was born on September 17, 1954, in Charleston, SC. He was the son of the late Ann McCandlish Carroll and Charles Rivers Carroll.
Charlie graduated from Moultrie High School and attended Clemson University. His vocation was being of service in the grocery and restaurant businesses. His hobbies included anything that had to do with the beach, sailing, outdoors, and Clemson football. Charlie’s legacy is one of faith. He loved our Lord and dedicated his life to Christ at the age of 10 years old. He was an active member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in the Old Village and enjoyed being in EYC and volunteered as an Acolyte and flag holder in his youth. Many summers were spent at Camp St. Christopher and much of his knowledge of the Bible came from numerous Bible studies and Christian fellowship. Something must be a contrast to this world to stand out. Charlie did!
Charlie was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Carroll and his father Charles Carroll of Mt. Pleasant. He is survived by his sister and biggest fan, Elizabeth Montague Carroll of Columbia, SC.
