Carrie H. Mason, age 102, of Charleston, SC, died on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living Home.
She was born on April 21, 1916, in Cross, SC, daughter of the late Adam and Sara Jane Hilton, and widow of David Ceth Mason.
Carrie was a member of Grace on the Ashley Baptist Church. She was loved for her sweet disposition and was affectionately called “Gigi” by the grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by her family: daughter, Vera Bundy and husband, Mel, of Charleston, SC; grandchildren: Cindy Fowler and husband, Randy, of Charleston, SC; Kim Thomas and husband, Robert, of Raleigh, NC; three great-grandchildren: Megan, William and MacKenzie; and two great great-grandchildren: Addison and Emmalynn.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the Brookdale staff and to Agape’ Hospice for their loving care.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 30, 2018, from 11:00 PM – 12:00 PM, one hour prior to the funeral service at 12:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley. Entombment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Carrie’s memory be made to Pet Helpers, 1447 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412 or Charleston Animal Society, 2445 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.
