Carolyn R. Kruger

Carolyn Reese Kruger, of Mount Pleasant, SC passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022. She was born June 1, 1937, in Charleston, SC., the daughter of Fred and Stella Pozaro Reese. She graduated from Bishop England High School in 1956 and Roper School of Practical Nursing in 1976. After her nursing career, she was employed as Town Clerk of Sullivan’s Island where she retired in 2002.

She is survived by her sister Michelle R. Barnette; three daughters Elizabeth Kruger, Kimberly Kruger Richardson, and Cynthia Kruger Smith; two sons-in-law Mike Richardson and Thomas Smith; grandchildren Michael Richardson, Kelly Richardson Curry (John) and Charles Parker Smith; and great grandchild Jack Andrew Curry.

She was predeceased by her parents and sister Joy R. Truesdell.

The family will receive friends at Goldbug Island, 1560 Ben Sawyer Boulevard, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464, on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  A Memorial Mass will be held at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, 1204 Middle Street, Sullivan’s Island, SC 29482, at 1:00 pm, on Monday, August 15, 2022. A private interment will be held on a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stella Maris Church Building Fund, PO Box 280, Sullivan’s Island SC 29482 or Sullivan’s Island Fire Department, PO Box 104, Sullivan’s Island, SC 29482.
