Carmen Jean Miehe, 93, of Charleston, SC, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020.
She was born on December 30, 1926 in Wyoming, IA, the middle daughter of the late Hilda and August Ingwersen.
Carmen excelled in musical and artistic talents, mostly the piano and landscape paintings, during years of traveling and making friends across the country.
She was a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church.
Carmen and Ray enjoyed traveling with family, camping during summer vacations, and for over 15 years during retirement traveled the country coast to coast in a "fifth wheel camper" staying below the "frost belt". Carmen and Ray settled in Charleston shortly after Hurricane Hugo to be closer to most of their family.
Carmen is survived by her sister Mary Ann Paulsen of Monticello, Iowa, and her three sons and their families: Bill and Phyllis, of Bonneau Beach, SC; Ben and Jenny, of Charleston, SC; and Bruce and Melody, of Hayden, ID; eight grandchildren: Sean Miehe, Angela Kirch, Jill Currin, Amber Christoff, Eric Miehe, Phillip Miehe, Jessica Gentry, and Alexa Davidson; eight great-grandchildren: Kelsey, Steffanie, and Bailey Miehe, Madeline and Elsa Kirch, Jake Miehe, Ryder Currin, and Maxwell Miehe.
The family is planning a Celebration of Carmen's life at a later date.
