Candyce L. Krumwiede, 60, of Johns Island, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016. Born in Rushville, IN, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Frances Clifton and wife to David R. Krumwiede. Candyce graduated from Rushville High School in Rushville, IN, where she was the Head Majorette. She continued her education at Purdue University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and received her Masters of Art and Liberal Studies from North Central College. While at Purdue, she was a member and president of Pi Beta Phi fraternity. Mrs. Krumwiede taught fourth and fifth grade in Houston, TX and also at Peter Pan Preschool. She also was a Grant Writer for the YMCA and Program Director for the March of Dimes. While with the March of Dimes, she was a Founding Member and Leader of High Risk Moms Support Group. Candyce served on the Dean’s Advisory Committee for Purdue University College of Education and the Republican Women of Illinois. Candyce was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Illinois, where she was a Bible Study Leader for the Sisters’ Group. While at Grace UMC, she traveled twice to Russia for mission work. After moving to Johns Island, she was a member of Johns Island Presbyterian Church. Above all else she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, David Krumwiede of Johns Island; daughter, Laura Scott of Stillwater, MN; sister, Mary Fran Hadley of Monrovia, IN. Mrs. Krumwiede was also predeceased by her infant children, Anna and Joseph. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Johns Island Presbyterian Church, 2550 Bohicket Road, Johns Island, SC 29455. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Rush County Community Foundation, Harold Clifton and Frances Mitchell Clifton Memorial Scholarship Fund, 117 N. Main Street, Rushville, IN 46173. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm, at Moster Mortuary, 334 N. Main Street, Rushville, IN 46173.
