Brian R. White, 42, of Johns Island, SC, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018.
He was born on June 5, 1976 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Alice Faye Jones and the late Donald Mitchell Jones, and the late Hoyt Ray White.
Brian was an overachiever in everything he did. He loved fishing, boating and continued his father’s hobby of gardening. He donated his life and his work effortlessly to benefit his community. Brian never met a stranger. He opened his home to the homeless, feeding, clothing and even assisted with some of their final wishes. Brian was awarded Citizen of the Year by Mayor Riley and Charleston Police Chief Mullens for saving Ms. Chisolm’s life. He will be most remembered for his dedication and love for his community. Brian was a loving father and husband.
He is survived by his loving wife, Christina Gammons White; his children: Cameron White, Koeper White, Victoria White, Zack White and Nevin Young; his sister, Angela Chandler (Corey Wright); nephew, Daniel Cuda; great-niece, Kora Cuda; and his aunts and uncles: Sylvia Belcher, Selma Campbell, Sharon Hudson, Bratcher Taylor and George Taylor.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, followed by the memorial service at 3:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home James Island.
