Brian Oliver Metts, 35, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015. Born on March 6, 1979, in Charleston, SC, Brian was the son of Beverly Hucks Grooms and Douglas Oliver Metts. Brian is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Pinckney Hucks and Beverly Hucks, and grandfather, Dempsey Oliver Metts. He is survived by his son, Brian Chandler Metts, of Summerville, SC; his mother, Beverly Lynn Hucks (Raymond “Boogie”) Grooms of Moncks Corner, SC; his father, Douglas Oliver (Gayle) Metts of Moncks Corner, SC; one half brother, Douglas Oliver Metts, II of Moncks Corner, SC; two half sisters: Rushelle Ann Metts of Moncks Corner, SC; and Jennifer Grooms of Moncks Corner, SC and a stepsister, Angela Grooms of Hilton Head,SC. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, from 1:00pm until the time of service at 2:00pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home Goose Creek Chapel, 869 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC 29445.
