Bonnie Karst

Bonnie B. Karst, 82, of Goose Creek, SC, passed away on October 10, 2023.

Born September 5, 1941 in Summerville, SC was a daughter of the late Dorothy Haynes Bounds and Williams Bounds.

Bonnie was a graduate of Berkeley High School. She was a member of Ridge Baptist Church. She worked as a nurse assistant in Lincoln, NE and at Charleston Southern University for 32 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and the Charleston Shag club.

Her hobbies including dancing, gardening, sewing, crocheting, and cooking.

Most of all Bonnie loved her God, Family and Friends. She taught everyone about Jesus as it was her goal in life that everyone she touched learned about his grace and eternal love. She was a true servant of God and helped rear and protect her many children, grandchildren, siblings, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her father, William Bounds; mother, Dorothy Bounds; daughter, Bonnie Bess Gregg and husbands, Spencer M. Gregg and Karl W. Karst.

Bonnie is survived by daughters: Susan Hayslip (Steve), Ginger Bowles (Michael) and Julie Tuten (Jamie); grandchildren: Michala Bowles (Josh), Jesse Tuten and Justin Tuten; two great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Dalton; and six siblings: John Bounds, Rick Bounds, Robert Bounds (Karen), Joseph Bounds (Pam), Betty Hilton (Roger) and Snookie Spacil (Milan).

The service will be held at McAlister-Smith in Goose Creek on Monday, October 16, 2023. The family will receive friends at 11:00 AM, with service to follow at noon. Burial will follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens on Highway 176. After the burial, family and friends are welcome to join the family back at McAlister-Smith for fellowship and refreshments.
