Bonnie Diane Lohr of Moncks Corner, SC, passed away December 7, 2017. She was 60.
Diane was born in Columbia South Carolina on September 12th, 1957. She was the oldest child of George and Faye Lohr. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Media Arts and went on to work as a librarian at Trident Technical College for 37 years. She also earned a Master of Library and Information Science degree from the same university.
Diane was a thoughtful, generous, and caring lady. She was particularly attentive to the needs of her family, including working tirelessly to care for her parents as they aged.
She doted on her nieces and nephew, bragging on them often to co-workers and filling her home and office with their pictures. She had a very generous nature, giving of her time, talents, and treasures to her family, friends, and causes about which she cared.
She was also an avid animal lover, frequently taking in stray, injured, or abandoned dogs and cats. She enjoyed photography, music, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by both of her parents, her brother Gary Lohr of Charleston, SC, her sister Jennifer Gross and brother-in-law Joshua Gross of Falls Church VA, nieces Virginia Lohr and Caelyn Gross, and nephew Jackson Lohr.
Her funeral will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church on Saturday, December 16th at 1 pm. Visitation will occur on Friday, December 15th at McAlister-Smith Funeral home, located at 2501 Bees Ferry Road in West Ashley between 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Pet Helpers of James Island or the John Ancrum SPCA. Or donate a bag of dog food to your nearest animal shelter.
Arrangements entrusted to McALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 2501 BEES FERRY ROAD CHARLESTON SC 29414.
