Bob Randall Chaplin

Bob Randall Chaplin, 52 of Ravenel, SC, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

Born on July 22, 1970 in Charleston, SC, he was a son of Betty Driggers Chaplin and the late Glenn Chaplin.

Bob loved his wife, Celeste, dearly and he will be missed greatly. He loved to operate heavy equipment, doing wood working and hanging out with his family. He served in the National Guard between 1989-1992. Bob worked at O.L. Thompson for 27 years. He was a master of nicknames, loved to fish in his pond and loved his family immensely. In many ways, he was larger than life.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Chaplin; his brother, Ricky Chaplin and his niece, Glenda Jean Chaplin.

Bob is survived by his wife of 32 years, Celeste Olson Chaplin; children, Erica Chesser (Stacey), Jeff Chesser (Amber), and Tina Harvey (Jason); his mother, Betty Chaplin; brother, Glenn J. "Julian" Chaplin, Jr. (Debbie); two sisters, Eileen Chaplin Miller (Mike) and Alicia Chaplin; and grandchildren: Kelsey, Laylee, Melinda, Trent, Wren and Gradyn.

The family will receive friends and family for a Memorial Service on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Sauldam Baptist Church, 5945 County Line Road, Ravenel, SC 29470.
