Betty L. Morris, 92, widow of James Madison Morris, passed away on June 1st, 2018 in Charleston, SC, where she moved in 2016 to live with family. Born in Akron, Ohio to the late Agee Lancaster and Edith Ireland Lancaster, she was a graduate of Henry Clay High School and long time Lexington resident and member of Central Christian Church.
Betty spent many years as an Avon representative and working for the American Cancer Society. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a long-time, avid Kentucky fan. She lived for spending time with her family and friends and cheering on the CATS!
Betty is survived by her three daughters, Lorraine McKenna, Charleston, SC; Marilyn (Don) Tucker, Nicholasville, KY; Kim (John) Poff, Charleston, SC.
Three grandchildren; Matthew (Karen) Wilson, Maylea Martin and Olivia Poff, all who are residing in Charleston, SC. Three great-grandchildren; McKay Wilson, Keenan Wilson and Cidney Wilson also of Charleston, SC. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Lancaster, Lexington, KY; William Lancaster, Shelbyville, KY; and her sister, Dorothy Honaker, Richmond, VA.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 5th, 2018 from 12:00 to 2:30 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd.; funeral will follow visitation at 2:30 at Kerr Brothers with graveside service to immediately follow at Hillcrest Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Stroke Association, the American Cancer Society or Central Christian Church.
